FAQ.
Everything you need to know about jewellery at Linkd.
good to know.
-
Permanent jewellery is a custom-fit chain welded seamlessly around your wrist, ankle or neck. There's no clasp, so it stays on until you choose to remove it. Simple, effortless jewellery designed to become part of your everyday.
-
Choose your chain from our range of 14k gold filled and sterling silver. Add a charm or connector if you'd like, then we'll custom-fit your piece and weld the ends together. Quick, simple and completely personalised.
-
Not at all! The welding process is completely painless. The spark never touches your skin, and a protective barrier is placed between you and the jewellery while we weld.
-
Most appointments take around 15–20 minutes per person, depending on how many pieces you're getting and how long you spend choosing your chain.
-
Pricing depends on your chosen chain, metal and length. Bracelets and anklets generally range from $55–$95, with necklaces starting from $100. Charms and connectors are available at an additional cost.
-
We work with 14k gold filled and .925 sterling silver.
Gold filled features a thick layer of genuine 14k gold bonded to a base metal, making it a durable choice for everyday wear. Sterling silver contains 92.5% pure silver and may naturally oxidise over time, but can easily be cleaned.
-
We have a curated selection of 14k gold filled and sterling silver chains, along with charms and connectors to personalise your piece.
Our collection changes regularly, so the best way to explore what's available is to visit us in the studio or at an upcoming event.
BASICS-
Absolutely! Our jewellery is designed for everyday wear, including showering and swimming. We recommend rinsing your jewellery after exposure to chlorine or saltwater and keeping it clean to maintain its finish.

-
Your jewellery is designed for everyday wear, but how long it lasts depends on your chosen chain, lifestyle and how it's cared for. With the right care, your piece can stay with you for years.
-
Sterling silver can naturally oxidise over time, which is completely normal and can be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth.
Our 14k gold filled chains are designed for long-term wear, although proper care will help maintain their appearance.
-
Some delicate chains can gradually stretch with everyday wear, particularly anklets or finer chain styles. If your piece becomes too loose, we can assess whether it can be shortened and rewelded.
-
Yes! Despite the name, permanent jewellery isn't forever unless you want it to be.
Simply cut the small connecting jump ring with scissors or jewellery cutters, taking care not to damage the chain. Keep your chain if you'd like to have it rewelded later.
-
Don't worry! Fine jewellery can occasionally catch or break during everyday wear.
Keep your chain and bring it back to us for a repair or reweld. Repairs and rewelding are complimentary unless something needs replacing.
-
Generally, yes! Fine jewellery usually doesn't need to be removed when passing through airport security, although screening requirements can vary.
-
Medical facilities may require you to remove your jewellery before certain procedures. Always follow the instructions of your healthcare provider.
Your chain can be cut at the connecting jump ring and kept for rewelding afterwards.
